Denver, CO, April 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Denver-based comCables sponsored the Here’s Life Inner City - Denver (HLIC-Denver) Wine Tasting & Silent Auction Benefit for the 6th consecutive year. The HLIC-Denver Wine Tasting Benefit was held at the Tivoli in Denver on the evening of March 27, 2010. The event, attended by 115 wine enthusiasts, raised nearly $13,000 for HLIC-Denver.

Here’s Life Inner City - Denver, part of a national chain of inner-city programs, is a 501c3 organization that assists the poorest Denver neighborhoods with practical and spiritual support. The organization provides a positive resource for at-risk young adults, which keeps them out of gangs and away from violence by providing after school programs, recreational sports and tutoring.

“The success that the at-risk youth have experienced through this organization is exceptional,” says Salt Wall, founder of Here’s Life Inner City - Denver while discussing some of the at-risk youth that were in attendance, “Thanks to the money raised at this event, we can make a difference one life, one family at a time!”

This event was a major fundraiser for HLIC-Denver, which has struggled financially due to a decrease in donations during the recent economic downturn. comCables has been a major financial contributor to HLIC-Denver for nearly a decade. In addition to financial resources, comCables has provided mentoring and tutoring to many of the young adults involved in the HLIC-Denver programs.

“This event is important to comCables since we exist to serve our community,” continues Greg Greenwood, CEO of comCables. “Especially such vital organizations as Here’s Life Inner City.”

The next HLIC-Denver fundraising event will be held on June 17, 2010, at Fox Hollow Golf Course, Lakewood, CO. Golfers and sponsors are encouraged to contact Joyce Browning at joyce@comCables.com or (303) 952-1724. The 2009 HLIC-Denver Golf Benefit had the largest attendance and money raised in the event’s eight year history, as a result, golfers and sponsors are encouraged to sign-up early. For the 8th consecutive year, comCables is underwriting 100% of the event’s expense, which allows all of the contributions to go to HLIC-Denver programs directly.
