Decatur, GA, April 20, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- It takes a village to raise a bookstore. On May 2, 2015 Little Shop of Stories will be showing their gratitude to the community that has supported them for the last 10 years with an awesome celebration in downtown Decatur's square.
The timing couldn't be more perfect since it is also Independent Bookstore Day, Children's Book Week and Free Comic Book Day. With partnerships from surrounding businesses everyone is getting in on the fun.
To Celebrate Free Comic Book Day My Parent's Basement will be on the square from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. selling comics and giving away a limited number of free grab bags.
All day local businesses Butter and Cream, No. 246, Vivid Boutique, King of Pops, and Squash Blossom will offer special incentives, flavors, drinks, displays etc., in honor of Little Shop's special day.
The Little Shop Bookmobile purchased by legendary writer James Patterson will be parked out front and passing out goodies. Go into the Camp Craft Highlight Tent to create some of Little Shop's favorite crafts from the last decade of their highly sought after book based summer camps.
Inside the shop will be storytimes, giveaways, activities and instant win raffles.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax on the lawn and watch the amazing performances and talks at the Gazebo. Live bands, theater troupes, storytellers and authors will grace the stage throughout the day. You don't want to miss shop favorite, and NY Times Bestselling author/illustrator of SkippyJon Jones, Judy Schachner!
It's all free as a thanks from the shop to the community that has supported them for 10 years.
