Space-Based STEM Game Wins Good Housekeeping 2016 Award
Tucson, AZ, November 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Xtronaut: The Game of Solar System Exploration, wins prestigious Best Toy Award 2016 from Good Housekeeping in the Family Board Game Category. Xtronaut was designed by the leader of the NASA OSIRIS-REx mission, allowing kids and adults to race through the Solar System building authentic rocket systems and completing realistic space missions -- having fun and learning together! Good Housekeeping engineers reviewed dozens of games and play tested with kids to select Xtronaut as a 2016 winner.

Xtronaut has also earned all 5 star reviews on Amazon, Top 5 STEM Toys for 2016 by City Kids, and a Staff Pick designation from Kickstarter.

Players 7 and older race around the Solar System, completing space missions, assembling actual rocket systems in this STEM game. Launch on an Atlas, Delta, Falcon, or SLS rocket system and speed to Titan -- but you need to have the right spacecraft and enough Delta V, or change in velocity, to complete the mission and earn points. Trade and negotiate with fellow players, and be careful of a budget cut that might slow your progress. The game includes an information filled workbook that connects the elements of the game to science, technology, and the OSIRIS-REx NASA mission.

Professor Dante Lauretta, the leader of the OSIRIS-REx mission, said, "I have spent 12 years developing this mission, and wanted to bring what I learned about planning and launching a space mission, together with my background in planetary sciences, to this game."

Michael Lyon, the co-founder of Xtronaut, explained that, "Humans are explorers -- we are curious -- and this drives learning. We wanted to build a game that would inspire kids to explore the Solar System and connect their classroom learning to real science and engineering in a fun and engaging game format."

The game is available on Amazon.
