)-- Luxautica Ultimate Car Club "was designed for those who enjoy the best of everything" says Luxautica spokesperson Jamie O'Donnell. That motto was extended into the interior design and custom artwork of the one-of-a-kind luxury car showroom.
With a world-class collection of more than 20 of the world's rarest performance and luxury vehicles, Luxautica is the most exclusive car club in the U.S., if not the world. When Troy Beasley of Beasley & Henley Interior Design took on the project, he had the exclusive membership clientele in mind. The goal of the club rooms was to provide the indulgence of a world-class environment for its globe-trotting members in impeccably designed spaces. “My inspiration was the cars!” exclaims Beasley. “and the idea of appealing to an affluent guest of the club. I wanted it to be Mod, yet comfortable, with a touch of gotcha! It needed to be flashy yet inviting, sleek and sexy, with the allure and mystery of its beautiful inhabitants.” Beasley created a unique private club offering private seating areas, state-of-the-art audio and video equipment, a round, draped lounge and a cigar room with a private bar. Then came the task of finding artwork that embraced the style and class of the upstairs members-only oasis. He turned to Chris Jones and Tara LaManna of HG Art and Framing Consultants.
“The client was looking for photography of the specific cars in his showroom, but with an artistic touch,” says LaManna. After Jones and LaManna exhausted every possible resource for the perfect photography, LaManna’s artistic talent became the best option. “We decided to use a creative digital approach and create an artistic interpretation of the photography while controlling the color palette of the design.” LaManna went to work on obtaining stock photography and zooming in on and graphically enhancing the abstract details of the luxury cars.
The resulting artwork was modern and sophisticated, and the client loved it. Chris Jones came up with unique framing concepts and custom framed each piece. “Troy brought us such a fascinating and unique project, I knew we could not fall back on traditional framing methods,” remarks Jones. “The art had to fit the space and theme but still be sophisticated. With Tara’s skills and creative side, we took Troy’s vision and helped create a captivating art package.”
One particular image measured 80” W x 80” H and was designated for the main seating area in the upstairs lounge. Being in an area that would be the main perspective while members relaxed, HG decided to come up with a framing concept that would match the unique style of the club. The large image was broken into 9 individual images which were mounted on fabric board. The images were then mounted to the fabric background at various depths. In order to create the different depths, 2 frames were stacked with plexiglass between the layers. The finished piece was dynamic, to say the least. “The artwork really needed to make a statement…and it does,” remarks Beasley.
Tara LaManna joined the HG sales team in September 2007 and was quickly promoted to Art Consultant, joining Art Consultant Carrie Lewis and Sales Manager Chris Jones. Completing the HG sales team are Director Russell A Glotfelty, Marketing Director Lisa Marie White, and Brooke Raymond in Business Development.
