Best Selling Author William Cohan to Appear at New York Investing Meetup
New York, NY, April 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Financial blogger Daryl Montgomery will be interviewing prize-winning author William Cohan on May 5th at the New York Investing meetup. Mr. Cohan will be signing books after the interview.

Montgomery and Cohan will be discussing, “House of Cards – A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street”, which was recently number 3 on the New York Times Best Seller list. The book discusses the 2008 financial meltdown and the factors that led to the collapse of Bear Stearns in March of that year. Cohan’s appearance at the New York Investing meetup is especially appropriate since it was the first major organization to predict Bear Stearns demise in August 2007.

Prior to writing “House of Cards”, William Cohan spent 17 years on Wall Street as an investment banker. He is also the author of “The Last Tycoons”, which was also a New York Times bestseller and won the 2007 FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award. Cohan writes for the Financial Times, the New York Times, Washington Post and is a contributor on MSNBC.

Cohan will be questioned about his recent book by Daryl Montgomery, who writes the popular ‘The Helicopter Economics Investing Guide’. Montgomery, a former academic who is now a full-time trader, is also the organizer of the 2000 member New York Investing meetup. His blog keeps the public informed on the ongoing events of the Credit Crisis as they unfold. In addition to the blog and its monthly meetings, the New York Investing meetup also produces online videos and offers investing classes. The group’s purpose is to provide the average investor with unbiased financial and economic education. It has no connection to any Wall Street firm. The group’s members have made money in stocks since the bear market began, while others have seen their portfolios cut in half.

The May 5th Cohan interview and book signing will take place in Manhattan at PS 41, 116 West 11th St from 6:45PM to 8:45PM. There is a $5 admission. “House of Cards” will be available for purchase. An online RSVP is requested, but not required. For more information, please go to:http://investing.meetup.com/21.
