Local Non-Profit Agency Opens New Office in Yorkville Area, Demand Remains High for Foreclosure-Prevention and Foreclosure-Intervention Services
Yorkville, IL, January 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Consumer Credit Counseling Service announced this week the opening of its new office at 803 N. Bridge Street Suite A. The non-profit agency, which has helped hundreds of area residents stay in their homes with its foreclosure-prevention and foreclosure-intervention services, hopes the expansion will improve accessibility for residents in Kane, Kendall, DeKalb and Will counties, where foreclosure rates remain high.

“The need for our foreclosure-related services is still urgent in these areas,” Consumer Credit Counseling Service program director Bettye DeRamus said. “We believe the closer we are to the people who need us, the more likely they are to ask for the help they need.”

As a HUD-approved agency and an affiliate of Home-Free USA, Consumer Credit Counseling Service qualifies for a federal grant program to provide its foreclosure-prevention and foreclosure-intervention services free of charge. The new location will house three full-time credit counselors who can assist with requests for loan-modification and interest-rate reduction. Counselors are trained and certified by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, whose 850 member agencies help more than three million consumers annually. The agency also provides its foreclosure-counseling services in Spanish.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a program of Family Counseling Service of Aurora, and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Yorkville and Aurora locations. Counseling services also are available online at www.auroracccs.org. To schedule an in-person appointment for foreclosure-prevention or foreclosure-intervention services at the new Consumer Credit Counseling Service location, call (800) 349-1451.
