Flexfit Announces Creation of Signature Hat Line with Mauli Ola Foundation to Raise Awareness for Genetic Diseases
Fullerton, CA, July 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Action sports stars, including legendary surfers, are collaborating to create a signature Flexfit hat line to raise awareness for Mauli Ola Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis and other genetic diseases. All proceeds from sales of this upcoming signature hat line will support Mauli Ola Foundation’s Surf Experience Days which pair CF patients with professional surf athletes for one-on-one surf instruction.

Already staples at Mauli Ola’s nationwide Surf Experience Day events, some of the most celebrated surfers and action sports athletes are excited about lending their creativity to the cause by designing these signature Flexfit hats. “The Mauli Ola Foundation Signature Hat Line by Flexfit is another opportunity for action sports athletes to further support our cause, and to help raise awareness for genetic diseases like CF,” explains Mauli Ola Foundation Surf Experience Director, Bobby Serna.

This special collection of signature Flexfit hats will represent some of the world’s most dominant figures in action sports including former world surfing champions, UFC fighters, legendary watermen, MX Daredevils and more. Each athlete has designed a hat that reflects their own individual artistic expression, making this one of the most diverse and unique collections of signature hats to ever be offered on the retail market.

Fall and winter 2010 will feature signature Flexfit hats designed by: Gavin Beschen, Shawn “Barney” Barron, Kala Alexander, Nissen Osterneck and Carly Lindmeier. The hats will be available for purchase at major retail outlets, surf shops and fight shops (to be announced). Hats will also be available for international distribution.

Spring and summer 2011 signature hats will feature designs by: Sunny Garcia, Makua Rothman, Trigger Gumm, Buttons Kaluhiokalani, Kainoa McGee and Mark Gabriel.

Flexfit signature hats will also be available to view at the Mauli Ola Foundation booth at ASR in San Diego, CA on August 13th through the 15th, and will be worn by athletes along the 2010 National Cystic Fibrosis Surf Experience Tour trail. About Mauli Ola Foundation
The Mauli Ola Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2008 to promote awareness of genetic disease and support for patients. One of the Foundation’s programs is Surf Experience Days that pair professional surf instructors and novice surf students who have cystic fibrosis to introduce them to the healing properties of exercise, ocean air, achievement, and fun in a supportive environment.

Surf Experience Days were created to get kids who have cystic fibrosis out into the ocean water (which is high in saline) and experience what natural therapies can do for their lungs. Kids who have cystic fibrosis respond very well to the salt water environment. The saline in the air and water breaks down the congestion that is in their lungs. This congestion is what causes them to have frequent hospital visits and leads to daily medication. With salt water treatments, their hospital visits are cut in half, leading to a healthier and more fulfilling life with fun activities.
