Seattle, WA, January 11, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Robert Stanek quietly worked on the Bugville Critters stories for 15 years and was satisfied with only the gleeful cheers, laughs and giggles of his children who delighted to hear his tales of Bugville and the little bugs who lived there. As his children got older, they urged him to get the books published so other children could share in the adventures they so cherished.
Getting the original 28 books to print was a long journey for the author and during that journey, he kept writing new Bugville stories. One of the things that made the stories so special to his children is that the stories address real issues and challenges all children face as they start school, make friends, and learn about the world around them. The stories instruct and entertain without being heavy handed or talking down. “The bugs are the stars of the stories and they’re very real,” said publisher Jeannie Kim. “Children see themselves reflected in Buster, Lass, Barry, Cat, Sarah and the other critters. It’s why Robert Stanek gets so many letters from children addressed to particular critters, especially to Buster.”
When Robert Stanek saw that certain concepts in school were a struggle to learn using traditional approaches, he started writing the Bugville Learning Adventures. These adventures, often starring Super Buster, build on traditional concepts, often expanding them in new and innovative ways, to help children learn essential skills. The first Bugville Learning Adventure released in print was Buster Bee’s Adventures with Letters and Words. This was followed by Every Day is Different and Catching a Cup of Sunshine. Then Robert dug into the Buster archives and rediscovered the Racing Super Buster books, including Racing Super Buster Counts (And You Can Too), Racing Super Buster Letters (And You Can Too), Racing Super Buster Shapes (And You Can Too), and Racing Super Buster Counts Higher (And You Can Too).
While there are many other Super Buster adventures to come, Robert wanted first to get back to the undersea adventures and that’s exactly what he does with Undersea 2, 3 with Buster and Friends. In Undersea 2, 3 with Buster and Friends, readers join Buster and Lass and their new sea horse friends for a special undersea counting adventure. The book provides a fun and different way to learn number skills.
Instead of focusing on simple 1-2-3 skills, the book focuses on number sequencing and grouping by 2s and 3s. The ability to see groups of items and know their count is an essential skill for a child's development and forms the basis of many more advanced number skills. The book also includes parent tips for advancing skills and getting more out of subsequent readings.
The release of Undersea 2, 3 with Buster and Friends is followed by the release of two additional Learning Adventures designed to build number skills. Undersea 4, 5 with Buster and Friends focuses on number sequencing and grouping by 4s and 5s. Undersea 6, 7 with Buster and Friends focuses on number sequencing and grouping by 6s and 7s. These books can be used separately or together with the other undersea adventures, including: Buster Explores the Sea and Buster’s Undersea Counting Expedition 1 to 20.
