"Of the Law" Road Trip, A Gleaming Success

Susan Wingate returns from her "Rambling Road Trip" to promote her mystery novel, "Of the Law."

"Of the Law" Road Trip, A Gleaming Success
Seattle, WA, October 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Beginning with a signing event at A Book For All Seasons bookstore in Leavenworth, Washington, Susan Wingate continued her "rambling road trip" (as she calls it) with a visit at the PNBA Trade Show in Seattle, September 19th through the 21st, driving along the Oregon coast with stops at such famed bookstores as Marie's Book Nook and North by Northwest Books. She met some pretty fantastic people at the several stops.

One of her most memorable stays was at the Oregon Dunes KOA Campsite. Frank and John were congenial and helpful with the dumping issues she encountered when it was apparent the RV rental company had neglected to include an elbow connection for the nastiest part of the trip and it's a good thing she found out so early on in her adventure.

Her plans? She'll be compiling a travel memoir about this brief time in her life and she intends to interject excerpts of fiction stories for specific events that stand out in her memory. Because the road trip had some highly amusing moments, this memoir will be light and funny, Wingate states.

"If it hadn't been for this young couple I was placed next to at my second RV park stop, I would never have known how to connect water to the motor home, turn on the electricity, or experience the thrill of dumping out the grey and black water - a thoroughly disgusting but necessary job. All-in-all things went smoothly. With only one real "issue", an equipment failure in the motor home, the trip went without incident. Thankfully. Plus, my cat and dog were good company when I could've felt pretty lonely. So, it was all memorable. We had fun. Plus, I pushed my book like a mad woman!"

Wingate says she'll finalize the memoir early in 2008. Right now, she's working in tandem on her third novel.
