Sister’s Business Partners Continue to Invest Resources, Time and Energy in This Inspired Community
Sisters, OR, December 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In this growing town in Central Oregon a consortium of unique lodging properties is being formed. This group of motivated entrepreneurs is committed to strengthening the region's economic vitality through combining their strategic marketing efforts.

FivePine Lodge, Ponderosa Lodge, Suttle Lake Lodge, Lake Creek Lodge, and Black Butte Ranch in partnership with the Sisters Chamber of Commerce represent a dedicated group of property owners that envision a powerful promotional impact by joining forces for their marketing plans. This group realizes that this type of creative endeavor will require strong leadership and collaboration, but the results can offer long-term benefits to the community by building strength, knowledge, and leadership in the region.

Bringing together their entrepreneurial talents and their pioneering spirit, this unique properties group, which would normally be competing against each other, realizes that they are more powerful together. This project has successfully linked these businesses that had previously functioned only autonomously.

The Sisters Country is a diversified economy that includes arts and culture, light industry, natural resource-based businesses and small retail. This economy especially supports locally conceived and owned businesses that provide a wide variety of year-round family wage jobs.

Last January the Sisters Country created a vision statement for the future to articulate a creative visualization for the region and a definition of the best, most strategic role for the Sisters community to achieve that vision. The vision statement positions Sisters as a modern western community that honors and preserves its history. Sisters is a safe community with an authentic village atmosphere and a variety of public gathering places that invites walking and cycling.

The surrounding natural environment provides a spectacular setting for the community, and there are strong connections to it for personal, social, and economic purposes.

Sisters has been making news lately with its “Branding” efforts. A new brand for The Sisters Country has been created and all co-op efforts will be using this new promotional brand. The local firm Brand Navigation designed the Brand, and the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce as a marketing tool administers it for Sisters. The brand is an "S" inside a circle, representing Sisters at the heart of Oregon. The brand represents "The Sisters Country" and in marketing materials goes with a tagline celebrating "Pioneering Spirit."

Highly developed local leadership and an active and informed citizenry make Sisters a fine example of community self-sufficiency and grassroots democracy.
