Rentricity to Support Pennsylvania-Based Water Utility Clean Energy Initiative
Rentricity Inc., a New York City based renewable energy company, is completing a feasibility assessment of an energy recovery installation at several North Wales Water Authority sites in Pennsylvania. Rentricity’s Flow-to-Wire systems transform excess energy contained in high pressure zones into a new source of "green" electricity.
Rentricity’s proprietary Flow-to-Wire(sm) system transforms excess pipe pressure and flow into clean power generation sold to the electricity grid. Rentricity’s renewable energy recovery solution allows water utilities to generate additional revenues while reducing environmental impacts.
“The North Wales Water Authority prides itself on its high-quality water treatment facilities and commits to provide a quality product and value-added services to the consumers and communities we serve. We feel the time is right to invest in clean electricity given our strong sustainability goals and significant state and federal renewable energy support,” says Raymond Berry, Director of Operations for the North Wales Water Authority. “Not only could Rentricity’s energy recovery system cut our carbon footprint, but it could provide a hedge against rising electricity costs.”
Rentricity will complete the North Wales Water Authority energy recovery feasibility assessment in June 2010.
“This feasibility assessment builds upon Rentricity’s success and experience throughout the state of Pennsylvania. We look forward to working with North Wales and other leading water utilities looking to capture currently wasted energy within their water distribution systems,” says Evan Conley, Rentricity Project Manager.
